James (“Jamie”) Mundy lives in Clarkston with his wife and three children. Gina and Jamie met on Lake Michigan in Pentwater on August 12, 2000. They married in 2002 and had their first daughter Abigail in 2004. In 2008, they welcomed their second daughter, Elliana. Then in 2014, their son Liam was born. During 2018, they welcomed Finn, a Shetland Sheepdog, to the family. Together, the family enjoys traveling, camping, boating, and walking Finn. They work together to help and mentor children. This includes involvement with YFU, a student foreign exchange program. They are hosting and mentoring Angie, a 15-year-old student from Thailand, for ten months. They are involved with the Whaley Children’s Home in Flint. The family gathers clothes, toys and provides financial support to children in Honduras. Jamie also assists Gina with her responsibilities as a Girl Scout Leader and Softball Coach.
A Proud Michigan Native
Jamie grew up in Lake Orion. His mother, Susan Mundy, was a preschool teacher at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Oxford for 31 years and his father, Robert Mundy, was a science teacher at Oxford High School for 34 years. Robert continues to work at the high school part-time setting up science labs for students. Susan and Robert continue to reside in their family home in Lake Orion and help raise their grandchildren.

Jamie graduated from the University of Michigan in 2001 and has been a wealth coach and strategist since 2003. He founded Core Financial Group in 2009 and specializes in designing and customizing wealth management plans. He enjoys meeting with couples, business owners, and individuals to learn about their financial goals. During the meetings, he educates his clients on ways to help generate income, build wealth, reduce taxes, and protect their money. Jamie is a big proponent of teaching families how to create generational wealth to ensure their kids, grandkids, and generations to come are financially secure.
Jamie is routinely asked to speak at seminars and workshops for business owners, physicians, and professionals. He has spoken at several local hospitals regarding asset protection. Jamie also speaks at conferences to fellow advisors regarding various industry topics and has been featured several times on WXYZ Channel 7's Financial Survival Series. Jamie carries his Series 7 and Series 63 financial licenses, has his Accident Life and Health licenses and is an active member of NAIFA.
